Greetings from Newcastle, Australia!

I've been here a little while, so I thought I'd better put in my $0.02 worth. My name is Aaron Bellette. I'm 35 and work here in Newcastle as an Anaesthetist. I'm married to Kerry and we have two wonderful children, Grace and Joseph. I've always been "taking photos" but now my specialist qualification requirements (exams and the like) are over, I'm starting to rekindle my love of photography. My current setup is MBP Core Duo 2GHz/Aperture 2/iPhoto '08, together with a Minolta Dynax SLR and Canon P&S (currently out of action).

I am awaiting the D60 vs 450D comparison to help me decide which way to go with regards to purchasing a DSLR, but would welcome any and all advice, suggestions, etc. from fellow CameraCon-ers.

Seems lots of folks are waiting or a good D60/450D showdown. One thing to keep in mind when reading upcoming reviews - don't just look at the specific camera models. Consider where you think each manufacturer is going with their products. You are going to be buying lenses for your new camera and over time the costs will add up. Once you are entrenched in one platform you won't want to switch. Both are going to offer excellent cameras - the choice is yours.; ▶ Reply to This

For completeness, I guess I should have also included an equivalent Sony (A350?), Olympus, Pentax, etc. in my cameras to consider.
