Shooting the Moon (no pun intended) is a good exercise in not only creativity, trying for different concepts, but also a good way to practice learning about exposure and settings on your camera. Never rule out the simple, you might just learn something.
I too enjoy fireworks, but have never been too excited about them with the D100. Hopefully with the D200 and the multiple exposure feature I will try some creative thoughts around overlapping firework shots.

LOL Good point - I always tell folks not to shoot what everyone else shoots. :)
But the challenge of shooting the moon can be a fun one to solve.
That is a great shot. Fireworks are on my list. I tried to take some of the moon, but was surprised to find how hard it is. The moon can be really bright and even with a shutter of about 2s I got 3 moons.
