- Photography is a favorite hobby of mine. I learned how to shoot way back in college with my Dad's old Minolta SLR - everything was completely manual - so I learned all about proper exposure settings. I got my Nikon N6006 SLR 14 years when I graduated from college from my wife and her family, and several years ago I traded in a couple of lenses for a Tamron 28-300mm zoom lens that I love. Any time that I shoot with SLR, I have the film processed at a local shop that will develop them to my specifications.
I have had various forms of digital cameras since they first appeared on the scene, and I've currently landed on the 10mp Canon G7 - a little tank of a camera! I haven't been interested yet in upgrading to a digital SLR - I prefer to shoot SLR "old school" with my Nikon N6006.
I also enjoy videography - and currently have the Canon HG10 HD MiniDV camcorder - which has been great for getting video of my 18-month old son!
I do all of my photo/video work on my beautiful iMac - several years ago I came over to "the dark side" and left PC-world for good. I don't do a lot of "post" work with my pictures - I try to get the pictures exactly the way I want them before pulling the trigger.
